Military sports championships
The Academia General Militar usually participates in different regional, national and international military sports championships at Army and Armed Forces levels. These activities are centered on sports like Patrol competition, Orienteering race, Military pentathlon, Shooting patrol, and Horse-riding and marksmanship. Posted and attached teachers to the Physical Education Department as well as officers cadets participate in those competitions getting fairly good results in the different disciplines.

There are some remarkable events such as: the five consecutive Military National Championships of Patrol Competitions (2009-2014), the sub-championships of Orienteering relays of the Army and of the Armed Forces, the participation in the world Horse-riding championship in Dubai, the gold medal in shooting in the military Pentathlon in 2014, and many other achievements.

The objectives of the AGM’s participation in the sports competition are diverse: to represent the Academy, the Doctrine and Training Directorate at an Army level and the Armed Forces; to give exemplariness to the cadets about the high physical and technical teachers’ expertise, and last but not least, to keep up updated knowledge and procedures at a national elite level, thus increasing tuition quality.
