3rd Civil-Military Congress on Sociology (Toledo, November 17-19, 2026)
The 3rd Civil-Military Congress on Sociology will take place from November 17 to 19 at the Infantry Academy of Toledo facilities under the motto “Thinking Together, Protecting the Common Good”, and is organized by the Cyberspace and Technical Assistance Services Head Office (JCISAT) of the Spanish Army.
¿What is the Third Civil-Military Congress on Sociology?
This event will bring together social science professionals from both civilian and military backgrounds. Both academics and professionals who carry out their work or research at institutions, companies, or polling institutes will have the opportunity to share experiences and build bridges that will facilitate knowledge transfer, for the benefit of all participants as well as the organizations and institutions where they carry out their day-to-day work.
Objectives and Target Audience of This Congress
This congress has three main objectives:
The first objective of this congress is to boost knowledge transfer between researchers in the civil and military sectors, by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
The second objective is to provide spaces for reflection which enable the creation and strengthening of bridges of collaboration between civilian and military sociologists and social psychologists in order to address problems from multiple perspectives.
Finally, this congress will showcase how sociology can contribute to better organizational management.
This type of congress appeals to a wide range of attendees:
- Sociologists, social psychologists, and professionals in related fields, such as operations research and statistics.
- Teachers, researchers, and students from a wide range of disciplines related to the social sciences who wish to broaden their perspective or redefine their career path.
Program
The program's structure and content are managed by the Spanish Army's Center for Sociology, in collaboration with the scientific committee of the congress. Proposals submitted by the various working groups will be incorporated.
The program includes:
- Plenary sessions.
- Special sessions.
- Conferences.
- Symposium.
Congress and location
The city of Toledo has been chosen as the venue for the congress because of its proximity to Madrid, its excellent transportation links, history, rich architectural heritage, and cuisine.
Various cultural activities will take place, including visits to the Infantry Academy, the Army Museum, and Toledo Cathedral.
