City

Toledo, located 71 kilometers from Madrid, is a city that was designated a Historic-Artistic Site in 1940. UNESCO granted it World Heritage Site status in 1986. The historic center is surrounded by a wall.

The city boasts a significant number of monuments, including civil structures (Galiana Palace, Fuensalida Palace, Amusco Palace…), religious sites (the Gothic Cathedral of Santa María, the Church of Santo Tomé, the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes…), and military sites (the Alcázar of Toledo, the Infantry Academy).

In terms of cuisine, the two best-known specialties are Toledo marzipan and carcamusas.

Toledo can be accessed by road (A-42). It has frequent bus connections and train service on Madrid's commuter rail network. There is also an AVE high-speed train that reaches Madrid's Atocha Station in 20 minutes.

Congress venue

The congress will be held at the Infantry Academy (ACINF). It is a military academy of the Spanish Army. The building, constructed in the mid-20th century, is designed in the Neo-Renaissance style and blends harmoniously with the Alcázar. The two buildings stand facing each other on either side of the Tajo River.
