The personnel of UALSAN collaborate with the various Spanish contingents deployed in different international missions in which Spain participates, mainly carrying out supply missions of various pharmaceutical products and maintenance to achieve the optimal operational level of all assigned equipment.

As a general rule, a monthly flight is carried out to supply various pharmaceutical products such as vaccines or medicines, which once consumed, need to be replenished according to the warehouse levels established for each deployed operation. Additionally, various medical supplies and any other essential items for the different deployed medical formations are included.

Regarding the maintenance of medical equipment that requires it, requests received through established channels are attended to maintain their optimal operability.

Another logistical aspect developed by this Unit is its participation in technical inspections of the facilities and materials deployed in these missions, usually on an annual basis, aimed at ensuring optimal levels of various pharmaceutical products for the proper functioning of the deployed medical formations. This focuses on reviewing the conditions of storage, custody, preservation, and maintenance of the medical resources stored there, as well as the hygiene, health, and care conditions, in accordance with the number of military personnel in the mission, thus providing the best coverage for potential risk situations that may arise.
