An operational team from the 6th Special Operations Group ‘Tercio del Ampurdán’ captured a high-value target with the help of a platoon of US Marines in the course of a direct action exercise which brought to a close the operational week both units spent together in the province of Alicante, from 16 to 20 May.

The American soldiers were responsible for providing cover and acting on a secondary target in the same town where the main action, the capture of the high-value target, was taking place.

Two Osprey aircraft brought the Marines from the military base of Morón de la Frontera (Seville), where they are deployed as a reaction force for the African continent.

In the days leading up to the final activity the troops carried out partial rehearsals of the operation in order to improve coordination. The latter was relatively straightforward thanks to the clarity and simplicity of the procedures and the high level of training of both units.
