In the course of his visit, the Chief of the Army Staff highlighted the excellent work carried out by the unit on its recent mission in Afghanistan from November 2009 until March 2010, with a special mention for Private John Felipe Romero Meneses who was killed in this operation, which was accomplished thanks to strict and demanding preparation that in mountain units has an added value due to the changeable environment in which they deploy.
