KSPAGT IX

The group is under the command of Colonel Máximo Barbero Checa.

The core of the KSPAGT IX is taken from the 10th Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Guzmán el Bueno" (Córdoba).

Its ranks are completed with units from the North-eastern Military Zone, Valladolid (12th Armoured Light Artillery Regiment), Canary Military Zone, Tenerife (49th Light Infantry Regiment) and various others.

A Civil Guard unit will act as Military Police.

Total personnel are 798, of which 57 are women, with 211 Commanders, 511 Enlisted, 19 Corporals and Civil Guards.

The missions of the KSPAGT IX consist of assuring compliance with United Nations Security Council Resolutions and the Military Technical Accord.

Likewise, it should guarantee the maintenance of law and order in its zone of responsibility, assure freedom of movement throughout all routes, monitor the assigned cities and establish a secure environment in the settlement of the Osojane valley and in the area defined by the following localities: Zvekan, Osojane, Prepajne, Tucep, as well as monitor the cities of Istok and Durakovac.
