Chechnya Support Group

The Chechnya Support Group, known as AGOSCE (Aid Groups from the OSCE in Chechnya), was established during the 16th meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on 11 April 1995.

Its broad mandate covered aspects such as supervision of compliance with human rights legislation, assistance in holding and monitoring elections, delivery of humanitarian aid, etc. while respecting the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation and adhering to OSCE principles.

Spain’s contribution consisted of an officer in Grozni. A total of three officers occupied that position within the mission, which ended in March 1997.
