During his visit to exercise VALIANT FALCON 16, he has been accompanied by Lieutenant General Spanish Army Deputy Chief.

 

 

03 june 16.- The Spanish Ambassador in Poland has met the troops posted in NATO´s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF), deployed in Poland, who are taking part in this new force employment exercise, called VALIANT FALCON.

 

Furthermore, Lieutenant General Spanish Army Deputy Chief Juan Campins Miralles has also attended, and has verified on the ground the preparedness of the nearly 1300 troops the Spanish Army has deployed in Zagan range (Poland).

 

The authorities who have visited the exercise have been received by LtG Francisco Javier Varela, Commander of HQ NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain (HQ NRDC- ESP, Bétera, Valencia), also Commander of the Spanish contingent and the whole VJTF, and by Brigadier General Luis Cebrián Carbonell, Commander of Galicia VII Brigade, in stand by period for any NATO task during 2016.

 

During the meeting with the troops, the ambassador has verified the capabilities of the unit, and has been shown the NATO procedures to deploy and command the VJTF.

 

VJTF is led by Spain during 2016, and its Full Operational Capability (FOC) will be declared in the NATO Summit in Warsaw on the 8-9 July.

 

This visit of the Spanish Ambassador in Poland to the VJTF is just another evidence of our nation’s commitment with the values of solidarity and mutual support that the Atlantic Alliance represents, and also with the defense and security of its member countries.
