The Spanish Armed Forces show their adaptation capability to the new security scenarios.
“VJTF is fully operational capable, and is ready to take its missions and tasks" So has informed through video conference this morning the Chief of the Land Component Command of the new Allied Response Force and of the Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) LtG Francisco Javier Varela to the Chief of Joint Force Command Brunssum, General Salvatore Farina.
The declaration of the Full Operational Capability (FOC) proves the great flexibility and adaptation capabilityor the Spanish Armed Forces to the new security scenario after facing the challenges of the integration of procedures of different countries and the projection wherever it is needed in the time established by the Allianza, in order to face any threat to the euroatlantic security in 360º, that means, wherever it comes from.
The event has taken place during the last day of exercise "Brilliant Jump 16", which has been developing in Zagan range since 17th May.
HQ NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain (HQ NRDC ESP) located in Bétera (Valencia), now deployed in Świętoszów (Poland), will submit the reports to obtain the certification of this new force in Warsaw Summit on 8-9th July.
Spain is leading on 2016 the Land Component Command of hte VJTF by means of HQ NRDC ESP, which includes the spearhead of the new allied response force, based on the light infantry Brigade "Galicia VII" (BRILAT), and a forward support element provided by the Operational Logistic Brigade.
Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF)
VJTF is composed of a multinational Brigade, with five batallions (aprox 5000 troops), supported by air, sea and Special forces assets, and the necessary logistic means, showing it adaptation to the new security scenario, becoming able to deploy in a few days to give a response to any threat.
In case the crisis worsened or a bigger presence of troops were necessary during this year, two additional brigades could be deployed - Dutch and British - to provide immediate reinforcements
