Number: Spanish NATO Rapid deployable Corps passed the evaluation to become the first Joint Task Force Headquartes in NATO

Pending the official announcement that will arrive in the following days, as, Spanish NATO Rapid deployable Corps (HQ NRDC-ESP) passed the evaluation to become the first Joint Task Force Headquartes (JTF (L) HQ) to plan and conduct military operations.

The execution phase of Trident Jaguar 14 carried out in Menorca successfully ended on the 17th of May. This exercise was the framework to evaluate HQ NRDC-ESP as JTF for land heavy operations.
HQ NRDC-ESP has been the first NATO Force Structure (NFS) HQs to be evaluated as a JTF HQ by NATO. A change of procedures and mindset for all members of HQ NRDC-ESP staff as well as the support given - mainly during the execution phase of TRJR14 - by the Spanish Armed Forces has been crucial to achieve the change.
After the official certification, HQ NRDC-ESP located in Bétera (Valencia) will enter a "Stand By" period that will last from the first of July 2014 to the 30th of June 2015.
HQ NRDC-ESP is currently one of the 8 High readiness Headquarters offered by the Nations to NATO.
This certification process shows the Spanish commitment with the transformation process in NATO and the connected force initiative to provide a global safe environment.

La ejecución del ejercicio “Trident Jaguar” se realizó en la base "San Isidro".
