   PORTADA 21SEP20

Introduction

GD Gª BLÁZQUEZ

Welcome to the General Command of the Balearic Islands site  where, due to the entity of its military garrison, its specific missions and its unique geographical and meteorological characteristics, the human quality of its components becomes more latent.

Our main mission is none other than the defense of the national territory maintaining a presence of units with which we contribute very directly to the strategic lines of action of prevention, deterrence and response that marks our National Defense Directive. The fact that we are separated from the peninsula, forces us to maintain a higher degree of operability and availability in all our units.

We feel privileged to develop our military vocation, a job that we like, that we are passionate about, that allows us to serve others and thereby contribute to making our society safer.

Integration into the Balearic society is a fact that we can be proud of, their love, respect and consideration are the best stimulus a soldier can receive from the citizens he serves. The constant collaboration and support in all areas to all Balearic authorities keeps us faithful to the tradition of cooperation forged by those who have exercised command of this captaincy, then military command for more than three centuries of history.

Fernando García Blázquez

General Commander of the Balearic Islands
