On Nov. 23rd '16, a working day event took place between the General of the Spanish Army and Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army, Domínguez Buj (JEME, in Spanish), and his Portuguese counterpart, General of the Portuguese Army, Rovisco Duarte.

The meeting was held in the Portuguese Mechanized Brigade headquarters which is located in Santa Margarida da Coutada. There exactly was a colleague Brigade: the 11th 'Extremadura' Spanish Mechanized Bridage led by Spanish Chief Brigade General Dacoba, During his visit, General of the Spanish Army, JEME, witnessed firsthand the latest on the Portuguese Army and one of its more powerful units.

General of the Army, Domínguez Buj, attended a shooting exercise of a Tatical Sub-Group Unit (S/GTAC) and, in turn, he was particularly interested in the  8x8 “PANDUR II” vehicle of the Portuguese Army.

Finally, should be noted that Portuguese Army, General Rovisco Duarte, decorated Spanish Army General Domínguez Buj with the highest of decorations Portugal had ever conferred in Peace times: the ''Grand Cross of the Order of Military Merit'',  conferered to ''military personnel who show outstanding qualities, military virtues and are professionaly competent.''
