Army General Domínguez Buj Receives the Chief of the Italian Army Staff at Army Headquarters

Lieutenant General Claudio Graziano, Chief of the Italian Army Staff, has been received by Army General Jaime Domínguez Buj, today at Buenavista Palace, Army Headquarters, in Madrid.

Within a two-day visit in our country, the Italian Chief of the Army Staff has met this morning with his Spanish counterpart to deal with matters of interest for the armies of both counties.  Thus, following the arrival of the Italian delegation at Army Headquarters, the lieutenant general has received official honours, to subsequently hold a personal interview with the Spanish army general

After that, the lieutenant general has signed the Guest Book and has attended lectures offered by the Army Staff Operations Division and the Logistics Division.  In the former, Major Zacarías Hernández and Major Margarita Pardo de Santayana have presented the organisation of Special Operations in Spain and the training and instruction programmes of Spanish Army units.  In the latter, Colonel Carlos Palacios has spoken on the plan for reduced employment of materials. 

After the post-presentation discussion, the Italian delegation has departed for Paracuellos del Jarama (Madrid) to visit 6th Paratroops Light Infantry Brigade ‘Almogávares’.

Lieutenant General Claudio Graziano has a broad military career, during which, in recent years, he has been chief of the Italian Defence minister’s cabinet (2010), commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon –the United Nations mission for Lebanon - (2007-2010), deputy commander of the Italian Operations Staff (2006-2007) and commander of the Multinational Brigade in Kabul (2005-2007).
