The Implementation of English in the Academies Advances

Command of the English language will acquire greater importance from the next official announcement for admission through promotion to the Officer and Non-commissioned Officer Scales, which is foreseen to be published in April 2013. This change is the result of the application of Orders DEF/792/2010 and DEF/780/2011.

In the case of promotion to the Officer Scale, if a university degree is not required, it will be necessary to have a knowledge level of at least 2 in all the language profile skills.  If a degree is required, there must be a knowledge level of at least 3 in two of the skills and a 2 in the remaining two. 

For promotion to the Non-commissioned Officer Scale, if an advanced technician degree is not required it will be necessary to have a knowledge level of at least 2 in two language profile skills.  If a degree is required, there must be a knowledge level of at least 2 in all the skills.
