Serbian Servicemen Stop Over in Córdoba on the Way to Lebanon

Members of the 17th Spanish force that will deploy in Lebanon in the month of November –the bulk from 10th Mechanised Infantry Brigade ‘Guzmán el Bueno’- will travel together with a group of Serbian servicemen, the result of a technical agreement signed between the Special Operations Command and the Serbian Armed Forces on 6th September. 

The accord regulates the incorporation of the Balkan force into the United Nations Mission in Lebanon.  They will do this within sector east, under Spanish responsibility, where servicepersons from India, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia and El Salvador are already working together alongside the Spaniards. 
 

In this rotation, Serbia will contribute an Infantry platoon, a National Support Element and a group of officers, who will be posted to Headquarters and Staff. 
 

The platoon and the National Support Element have been in Córdoba since 17th September in order to undertake the final phase of their preparation on the installations of Base ‘Cerro Muriano’, along with Spanish servicemen.
