The Logistics Academy Successfully Passes a Key Course

Academic year 2011-2012, which concluded in the middle of this month, has meant an important challenge for the Logistics Academy since it has had to co-ordinate the implementation of the new non-commissioned officer study plan –with a 3-year duration and by which future staff sergeants obtain a degree of advanced technician from those degrees established in the Ministry of Education catalogue –with the old plan. 
 

At its installations classes have been offered to students  from the fundamental specialties of Information Technology, Equipment Assembly and Maintenance, Electricity, Weapon and Materiel Maintenance, Vehicles, Electronics and Communications, as well as Aircraft Maintenance, which correspond to their respective advanced technician degrees. 
 

They have been joined by others such as those changing specialty or attending workshops like the innovative ones on victim rescue from vehicles and their removal to safety for personnel who are going to be posted to an area of operations, and also the staff sergeants who are preparing for promotion to master sergeant in the corresponding course and who are undertaking part of their training at this centre.
 

All this has meant that, daily, during this academic year, there have been an average of fifty class sections operating simultaneously, and over 1,700 students have passed through its classrooms, plus nearly 500 more for the Update Course for Promotion to Master Sergeant. 
 

Responding to this number of students has been possible with the incorporation of military instructors who have come on service commission from other units,  as well as civilians, in collaboration with the regional government of Aragón.
