At the most recent ceremony the ‘Hernán Pérez del Pulgar’ award, granted by the Royal Cavalry Armoury in Granada, has gone to Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Javier Frías, for his work titled Artillery and Doctrine in Spain.  The award presentation took place on 9th June at Royal Armoury headquarters.

This award aims to promote the spirit of research and analysis among members of the Army, by rewarding authors of works related with subjects within the scope of the Training and Doctrine Command.  The award was established in 1999 and year after year has been recognising the research labour in the area of the military.

The Royal Cavalry Armoury in Granada is one of the oldest of the five existing in our country.  The senior brother is His Majesty the King, while Mr. Ignacio Pérez de Herrasti holds the post of lieutenant to the senior brother.
