The collection of ‘Enigma’ Code machine models that Spain conserves has been completed by virtue of an exchange with the United Kingdom, which took place on 22nd March between the Army Museum and the British Government Communications Headquarters.

Thanks to this, the Spanish museum has received two commercial model (Series K) ‘Enigma’ machines:  one from the naval series, used by Kriegsmarine –the German War Navy- during the 2nd World War, and another corresponding to the M-209 model, also used by the allies during the conflict.

They have been exchanged for two other examples of this same model that were used by the Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War to encode all their messages and communications.

With this agreement, both countries enrich their historical state patrimony and strengthen their ties of co-operation.
