General Orozco, the New Commander General of the Balearic Islands

General Adolfo Orozco took up the post at the head of the Balearic General Command on 4th October, in an official ceremony held in the Almudaina Palace, where the Command has its headquarters. The ceremony was presided over by the commander of the Land Force, Lieutenant General José I. Medina, and attending were some of the Islands’ leading authorities. General Orozco handed over from the commander of the Balearic General Command Staff, Colonel José L. Codina, the Command’s acting commander.
In his address, the new commander general of the Balearic Islands declared his conviction of assuming the post with “the serenity necessary” to command well “the noble, brave Balearic soldiers”. As well, he expressed his pride of the experience that he has accumulated in his years of service: “My posts in the Armed Forces in all of my employments, having been in various Staffs and having some experiences in operations and abroad have allowed me to acquire close up knowledge of the challenges that face our units”.
General Orozco, who replaces Juan M. Estaun at the post, has been the military attaché in Rome, and prior to being appointed as new commander of the Balearic General Command, he was the commandant of the Infantry Academy.
