The urban area combat range on Training Centre "San Gregorio", in Zaragoza, is closer and closer to reaching its final configuration. In fact, on 31st August last the official delivery of the second phase of the construction work took place.

This range, which is constructed in Casas Altas del Castellar, will permit training of a tactical group when it reaches its conclusion. The third phase, which includes 20 two storey buildings and a wooded area, is already in the process of being contracted.

At present, the urban area combat range with 82 prefabricated modular concrete one and two storey buildings, as well as fences that delimit streets, farmyards and corrals, is an authentic urban labyrinth. There are also underground communications between various houses and continuity of nearby terraces, which increases the possibility of irregular warfare. The maximum size unit that can use the installation is company type.

The area is surrounded by wire fencing and is accessed by way of two closed entries with control posts. Once finished, the range will allow for the training of all urban combat actions, although live fire is excluded from the tactical scenarios that can be implemented.
