Base 'Zarco del Valle' Respects the Environment

The Army’s commitment to environmental conservation has seen a new recognition added: ISO 14001:2004 certification, which since 19th May has been displayed by Base “Zarco del Valle”, situated in Madrid.

This distinction, presented by the Spanish Standardisation and Certification Association, has been possible thanks to the important effort which has been carried out by its personnel to adapt the installations to the European standard in the area of environmental management. 

To make this clear, the day when the Army Base Department commander, General Álvarez-Espejo, received the certification included a tour inside the base, whose history covers over 100 years.
