BASE “EL GOLOSO” BECOMES AN ENDURO RESISTANCE CIRCUIT FOR A DAY

The Second “12th Armoured Infantry Brigade” Enduro Resistance Trial had a specific category for military participants

One of the participants in the trial on Base "El Goloso"The “El Goloso” Training Centre and Firing Range in Madrid, an annex of the 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade “Guadarrama” Base, has been the scenario of the second “12th Armoured Infantry Brigade” Enduro Resistance Trial which was held on 21st November.  The Madrid Motorcycling Federation, which organised this sports event that counts towards the Community of Madrid Trophy for All Terrain Resistance, created a specific category for participating military personnel.

In this category, first place was for Sergeant Cordobés, from 61st Armoured Infantry Regiment "Alcázar de Toledo", who also came in fourth in the general classification.  In second and third places in the “military division” respectively were Captain Jordá, from the Special Operations Command, and Captain Jiménez, from the 12th Self-propelled Field Artillery Group.

Finalists podium at the II Enduro Resistance Trial Lieutenant Colonel Casado, commander of the 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade Headquarters Battalion, was in charge of dropping the flag, which gave the 84 participating riders the signal to start.   The circuit, a priori simple, had some stretches of considerable difficulty, which caused the bikers to classify it as “rough” at the end of the day.
