THE 2ND NUCLEAR, BIOLOGICAL AND CHEMICAL DEFENCE CONGRESS BEGINS IN MADRID.

Under the slogan “Union of Capabilities, Guarantee of Success”, on 22nd and 23rd June, the Army’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) Defence Military School is organising the 2nd NBC Defence Congress. This Congress’ venue will be the Auditorium Hotel in Madrid.
The lecture cycle communications will be the responsibility of experts on the subject who belong to the NBC Defence Military School, 1st NBC Defence Regiment “Valencia”, National Centre on Anti-terrorist Co-ordination, Madrid Emergency and Medical Emergency Service –Civil Defence, Medical Emergency Service of Catalonia, Military Disaster Relief Unit, Army Engineer Academy International De-mining Centre, National Police Corps, Civil Guard and Madrid 112 Emergency Centre.
These experts will present their methods of action, experiences and theses regarding the three general topics that make up the scheduled round table discussions: “Challenges of the NBC Threat”, “Medical Intervention in NBC Incidents” and “Management of Explosive Deactivation-NBC Incidents”. In addition to the scientific programme, there will be a commercial exposition with products from 13 specialised firms in the sector, which collaborate in the Congress.
The first of these Congresses took place in June 2007, and coincided with the 25th anniversary of the NBC Defence Military School. On this second occasion the aim is again to create a forum for debate among NBC Defence specialists on the integration and co-ordination of available capabilities by various civilian and military organisations in case of an NBC incident.
ACCREDITATION
Communication media interested in covering the Opening Ceremony and/or some of the Congress sessions must request accreditation at the following e-mail address: prensa@et.mde.es.
The request must indicate the name, surnames and National Identity Number of the reporter, photographer or cameraperson, as well as the name of the communication media that they represent.
The accreditations will be picked up in the lobby of the Auditorium Hotel, following personal identification, between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. on 22nd June.
