Presentation of the Conference to the students
The 20th War Correspondents Conference of the Army began on September 16th with an opening ceremony held at the School of Warfare and Leadership (EGLET) in Madrid, presided over by its director, General Carlos J. Frías. This edition stands out for its high level of participation, with a total of 27 communication professionals taking part.
Organized by the Communication Department of the Army and EGLET itself, the aim of the conference is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to ensure their personal safety and the effective development of their reporting in highly complex environments. Thus, until September 20th, participants in this edition will face the reality of being observers in hostile territories, preparing to cover high-risk conflicts.
Held in Madrid, this time the event involves the participation of units located in the Madrid region, such as the "Guadarrama" XII Brigade, the Army’s Airborne Forces, and the Academy of Engineers, as well as the company ILUNION "Driving School".
During this week, participants from various media outlets across Spain will receive comprehensive training, both theoretical and practical, which they have already fully engaged in. They will cover various key areas to act safely and effectively in conflict zones, focusing on health prevention, survival in contaminated areas, vehicle operation under adverse conditions, and conducting boarding and disembarking drills and integration with active units, among other exercises.
