The Spanish and Peruvian Chiefs of Staff at the Army Headquarters
The Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army (JEME), General of the Army Amador Enseñat, received his Peruvian counterpart, General Commander César A. Briceño, during the official visit he made to Spain. The visit began with a meeting between the JEME and the Peruvian General at the Buenavista Palace, headquarters of the Spanish Army (Madrid), on the morning of September 9th, where the Peruvian officer was accompanied by a delegation from his Army.
There, after being received with the appropriate honors, both Chiefs of Staff held a working meeting. Subsequently, General Commander Briceño signed the Guest Book and attended a series of briefings presented by the staff of the Army General Staff, covering the most significant aspects of the organization and main missions of the Spanish Army.
Visit to the "El Goloso" Base, Headquarters of the XII Brigade
The following day, on September 10th, the JEME accompanied the Peruvian General Commander on his visit to the facilities of the "Guadarrama" XII Brigade in Madrid, where they were received by the Brigade Commander, General Antonio Bernal. General Bernal himself provided a briefing on the work carried out by the Brigade, and they then attended a series of static and dynamic displays of materials and capabilities.
Visit to the General Military Academy in Zaragoza
On September 11th, the Peruvian delegation traveled to Zaragoza, where they visited the General Military Academy (AGM). There, after being welcomed by the AGM Director, General Prudencio Horche, they toured the facilities on foot, allowing them to gain a closer insight into the daily training work of future Spanish Army officers. The day concluded with the Peruvian JEME signing the Guest Book.
The official engagements of the General Commander of the Peruvian Army will continue until September 12th and will include visits to other Armed Forces units.
This meeting underscores the strong relationship between both armies and highlights the importance of international cooperation, sharing the commitment to address common challenges and ensure global stability and security. Ongoing collaboration and the exchange of knowledge are essential for strengthening the joint capability of the Army to respond to current and future threats.
