Speech by General Pérez at the conference
A delegation of the Directorate of Acquisitions (DIAD) of the Army Logistics Support Command (MALE), headed by its director, General José R. Pérez, travelled to London, between January 22nd and 25th, to participate in the "International Armoured Vehicles Conference" (IAV), which took place in the town of Twickenham, southwest of Greater London.
The Director of Acquisitions, General José R. Pérez offered a conference about the plans of the Ministry of Defense and the Army to complete capabilities in armoured and mechanized vehicles in the units of the Spanish Army.
The IAV is the most important annual international event on combat vehicles, which the Spanish Army, represented by MALE, attends every year since 2020, in order to show the capabilities of our Army in the international arena and exchange knowledge with other Armies in our environment, many of which are immersed in deep modernization processes of this type of vehicles.
This conference, organized by the British company Defence iQ, annually brings together about 1,000 participants from the Defence industry sector, and military personnel from more than 40 countries. Among the companies in the sector, some Spanish companies were also present.
In addition to showcasing advances in technologies and concepts regarding armoured vehicles, the International Armoured Vehicles Conference brings together key decision makers and developers of the new military capabilities required to operate in Multi Domain Warfare environments from both the military and industrial fields.
