KSPAGT XII

Task Force "ARAGÓN", which relieved Task Force "CASTILLEJOS", is deployed in Kosovo under the command of Colonel José María Soroa Rández.

On 28th September the transfer of authority (TOA) took place.


The force is made up of 542 members.


The core unit of the Task Force, the 1st Mountain Light Infantry Brigade "ARAGÓN", contributes the bulk of the force, 461 servicepersons from the 64th Regiment "GALICIA" (Jaca) and the 66th Regiment "AMERICA" (Pamplona), as well as from the Artillery Group, Sappers Unit, Logistics Group and the Brigade Headquarters Battalion.

 

Other units are also represented, among which the following are outstanding: a Light Cavalry Troop from the 12th Light Armoured Cavalry Regiment "FARENSIO" (Valladolid) and various forces from the 21st Tactical Signals Regiment and the Air Defence Artillery Command. 

The following missions are assigned to this Task Force: contributing to the general process of the consolidation of peace and stability in Kosovo, guaranteeing freedom of movement, maintaining a safe environment for ethnic minorities, providing protection at national heritage sites and maintaining control of the administrative boundaries with Serbia and Montenegro.
