SPABRI VIII

The troops were drawn from the Cavalry Brigade "Castillejos", which was the first time that this Brigade constituted the SPABRI core.

It included forces from the 11th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade and the Legionnaire Special Operations Brigade.

With a view to the elections and with respect to previous Brigades, it was reinforced by an additional Company , and remained in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 10th August and 17th December 1998.

Total forces were 1,380 people. Its most outstanding activities were those regarding support to OSCE, controlling the electoral processes and resettlement security in the Stolac area.
