SPABRI I
As consequence of the transfer of authority from the United Nations (UNPROFOR) to NATO (IFOR), the Battalion Task Force "Aragón" changed command to belong to the Multinational Division SE under French leadership, which modified its Area of Responsibility on assuming control of the southern zone of the Sparska Republic and established two new detachments in Trebinje and Nevesinje.
It also changed its structure and composition to convert itself into a Brigade that was reinforced by a Battalion Task Force from the 2nd Cavalry Brigade "Castillejos" and an Artillery Battery from the 62nd Field Artillery Group.

During its presence serious incidents occurred in the city of Mostar with the EUAM Administrator's vehicle being fired upon and various Spanish NGO personnel who were working in the western part of the city having to be evacuated by wheeled armoured vehicle (BMR).
