ASPFOR VII

AThe Force began its mission on 14th January. The unit is drawn from the 13th Railway Regiment, bases in Zaragoza.

Its 104 members are under the command of Lieutenant Coronel Jesús Viñas Cruz, and it also incorporater personnel from the 11th Engineering Specialities Regiment (Salamanca) and the 21st Tactical Tranamissions Regiment in Valencia.

To these, 20 members of the Air Force, belonging to the Air Deployment Support Squadron (EADA) in Zaragoza, are added. The Army Forces are based at Camp Warehouse, on the outskirts of Kabul, while the EADA deploys at the international airport in Kabul.

The spanish Force of Afghanistan fulfills its mission within the framework of the ISAF Operation "PEACE IN WORLD", which, under United Nations mandate, provides security to the population and the Stability to the transition government of Hamid Karzai.
