ASPFOR XXXIV

In November 2013 the mission will be reinforced by elements from Intelligence and Signals, a Command Support Team, a Communications Centre, the 12th Autonomous Sensorised Intelligence Platform Unit (UPASI) and personnel from the 41st Logistic Support Group (ULOG). Its 83 members are under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Javier Luis Rincón Moreno. Alongside them is the Redeployment Support Unit, made up by soldiers from the 11th Engineering Specialties Regiment, disassembling the facilities.

The structure of ASPFOR XXXIV is as follows:

-    Command (Lieutenant General Chief of ULOG).
-    Command Support Team.
-    Logistic Unit (ULOG) RA 34.
-    UAV Pasi Unit.
-    Communications Centre at KAIA.

The 12th Autonomous Sensorised Intelligence Platform Unit (UPASI) is made up of troops from the 63rd Field Artillery Regiment. Their tasks include intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance using their Searcher Mk II UAVs.

Logistic Unit (ULOG) RA 34

-    Senior Command:  It includes Staff Officers, a Logistic Support Control unit and an Outsourcing Control Team.
-    Quartermaster Unit: It includes Staff Officers and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 9th class Teams (1st class: Sustenance; 2nd class: Clothes & equipment; 3rd class: Fuel; 4th class: Building & strengthening materials; 5th class: Ammunition; 7th class: Armament; and 9th class: Spare parts).
-    Maintenance units: It includes Staff Officers and a workshop unit with Tier II and Tier III maintenance equipment (which can carry out repairs).
-    Transport unit.

It will provide logistic support to all the personnel and Army forces deployed for the Operation.

The Operation could be expanded to include the participation of a QRF/FP company set up by the Land Force consisting of 150 soldiers from the 5th Light Infantry Brigade (5 of them, from the Air Force). The unit is trained and ready to be deployed if necessary. The core of the unit’s equipment will be kept in store in the area of operations and ULOG will be responsible for keeping it operational.
