Troops from Bétera wrap up Trident Juncture

The Battalion of the Rapid Deployment Land Headquarters (BCGTAD in its Spanish acronym) completed its involvement in the exercise Trident Juncture on 16 November, after 76 days of uninterrupted work at the service base “San Jorge” (Zaragoza).

The main task of BCGTAD was to build the operational area, setting up the Command Post of the Land Component Command of the exercise with 105 COLPRO units, and the living area, with the necessary logistics to ensure its sustainability.

For this unit, the exercise was divided into three phases. The first consisted of the deployment of resources from its base at Bétera (Valencia) to Zaragoza. Several convoys transported both the equipment and the personnel to set up the camp. The second phase consisted of maintenance and permanent response to the needs that arose, both during the Command Post Exercise (CPX) and the operational Live Exercise (LIVEX). In the third and last phase, the equipment was disassembled and redeployed to Bétera in batches, together with the personnel.

In total, 270 20-feet containers were transported, as well as 2T and 20T forklifts, light and heavy vehicles, trailers, generators, cisterns, lighting towers, launderettes, shower containers, etc., all belonging to BCGTAD.

In addition, other units equipped with the materiel needed also collaborated in the exercise: The 41st Logistic Support Group, 61st Logistic Support Group, 11th Engineering Specialties Regiment, 6th Logistic Parachute Group, 2nd Legion Logistic Group, 7th Logistic Group, 10th Logistic Group, 12th Logistic Group and the Logistic Group of the Army Helicopter Forces.  Moreover, extra personnel from other Army units volunteered to be integrated in BCGTAD.

In addition, other units equipped with the materiel needed also collaborated in the exercise: The 41st Logistic Support Group, the 61st Logistic Support Group, the 11th Engineering Specialties Regiment, the 6th Logistic Parachute Group, the 2nd Legion Logistic Group, the 7th Logistic Group, the 10th Logistic Group, the 12th Logistic Group and the Logistic Group of the Army Helicopter Forces.  Moreover, extra personnel from other Army units volunteered to be integrated in BCGTAD.
