Logistic assessment of ‘Trident Juncture’ halfway through

With the end of the LIVEX phase of exercise ‘Trident Juncture’ on 5 November, those in charge of logistics are halfway through their task. It is time for redeployment, or reverse RSOM (Reception, Staging, Onward Movement).

Taking stock of the exercise since mid-September, the Joint Logistic Support Group HQ, whose nucleus is the Logistic Brigade, has managed the transfer of over 26,000 people (as well as eight mules of the German army) in its three settings: Portugal, Italy and Spain.

Moreover, the JLSG Operations Centre in Zaragoza has managed almost 1,200 missions, i.e. transporting the soldiers who took part in the exercise from the bases to their final destination. Three quarters of those missions have taken place in Spain.

All in all, 3,000 vehicles have circulated in the Spanish roads, constantly monitored by the JLSG Operations Centre. 1,400 of them entered through the ports of Sagunto and Bilbao. In addition, almost 2,000 containers were transported, half of them by road.

Finally, the multinational fuel unit, a pioneer in this type of exercise, has provided more than 1.2 million litres of fuel at the training centre “San Gregorio”.
