New activities in September
The Army Museum (in Toledo) has scheduled various activities for the upcoming month of September, including the temporary exhibition "The Languages of Music: The Army Museum's Collection of Musical Instruments", which can be visited until November from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday.
The exhibition, inaugurated on May 14th, brings together for the first time the Army Museum's collection of musical instruments, composed of two distinct groups: on the one hand, military percussion and wind instruments, and on the other, ethnographic instruments from the Philippines and Western Sahara.
The "Living Museum" program has scheduled a visit that will transport attendees to the 16th century, guided by "The Architect of the Alcázar". Through a monologue and theater, one of its builders will explain the architectural evolution of the building until its current form. The activity is free and will take place on Saturdays, September 14th and 28th, at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, until full capacity is reached.
Among the activities aimed at families with children is the storytelling session "Legends of Toledo", through which the Museum invites us to discover many of the city's secrets via its legends. The activity will take place on Sundays, September 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, with two sessions (12:00 PM and 1:00 PM). It is free of charge, with a limited capacity of 20 people per session.
Additionally, the "Family Museum" visit program invites families with children over the age of 7 to explore the museum's halls in a guided tour on Saturday, September 21st, at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, as part of the "Family Museum" program activities.
Finally, children will also be able to enjoy a puppet theater show with their families on Sunday, September 29th, featuring the play "Juanelo's Dream". The play will be performed in two sessions, at 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, with free admission. All activities at the Army Museum can be found on its website: https://ejercito.defensa.gob.es/museo/. Additional information can also be obtained at c/De la Paz, s/n, or by phone at 925 238 800, or by email at museje@et.mde.es.
