‘Cartography: Science and Art at Citizens’ Service’ is an exhibition that the Army Geographic Centre and the Cantabria University Department of Geography, Town and Country Planning have organised, within the scope of the 5th Ibercarto Meeting (Working Group of Hispano-Portuguese Public Cartography Libraries).

The show may be visited until 3rd November, in the central courtyard of the Cantabria University’s Paraninfo auditorium (Santander). Admission is free of charge and the open hours for the general public are, Monday to Friday from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and from 6:30 to 9:00 pm,  as well as Saturdays and holidays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.   It will remain closed on Sundays.

The exhibition, which brings together works from the 16th through the 20th centuries, consists of a general part- with world maps, portolan charts, as well as maps of Europe, Spain and overseas territories- and a monographic part on Cantabria, which consists of thirteen maps, some of which have been unknown to date.
