The Minister of Defense visits Troop Training Center No. 1 in Cáceres

On October 2nd, the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, visited the Army’s Troop Training Center No. 1 (CEFOT), located at “Santa Ana” Barracks in Cáceres, where she toured the facilities and spoke with the students, thanking them “for wanting to be part of the Armed Forces.”

In her address to the students, Margarita Robles stated that “military values represent a way of life you can be very proud of, just as all Spaniards are proud of you, always ready to help and to work for your country and for peace in the world.”

CEFOT No. 1 welcomes thousands of students each year who join the Armed Forces for the first time to train as soldiers. Currently, the Troop Training Center in Cáceres has about 1,300 new recruits undergoing their first training cycle. The students receive comprehensive instruction adapted to current needs and circumstances, with a strong focus on language studies and digital skills.

During her visit, the students of CEFOT No. 1 had the opportunity to speak directly with the Minister, who asked about their reasons for wanting to join the Armed Forces, and they were able to share their concerns with her.

The Center conducts two training cycles each year, with only one week of rest in between, during which all logistics are reorganized—demonstrating its great capacity for adaptation and coordination. This year, CEFOT No. 1 also has new facilities, including a new kitchen and a recycling station.
