The "Almogávares" VI Brigade of Paratroopers (BRIPAC) organized, once again, the exercise "Lone Paratrooper," at the air base of La Virgen del Camino, in León. Around 160 soldiers - 120 nationals and 40 foreigners - participated in these maneuvers, between June 17th and 28th, with the aim of improving instruction in parachute jumps in the mode of manual opening.

It was divided into two phases: during the first week, the activities were directed to the national units. Specifically, the Army contributed personnel from BRIPAC - from the Advanced Reconnaissance and Parachute Launching Companies - and from the Special Operations Command. For its part, the Air and Space Army collaborated with the Parachute Sappers Squadron, the Air Deployment Support Squadron and the Military School of Parachuting. In addition, the National Police Force contributed to the Special Operations Group.

During the second week, soldiers from the United States, France and Portugal were integrated. In this way, progress was made in interoperability when it comes to sharing tactics, techniques and procedures of the allied countries.

Among the milestones achieved in the "Lone Paratrooper", two stand out. On the one hand, the launch at high altitude with oxygen masks from the A-400 M aircraft, since it is the first time that it is carried out with this model of aircraft and allows progress in the process of certification of its capabilities. On the other hand, in-flight equipment practices, which concluded with a launch in manual opening at 12,000 feet.
