The JEME at the Arlington National Cemetery

The Chief of Staff of the Army (JEME), Army General Amador Enseñat, made an official visit to the United States, between May 15th and 23rd, in which he met with different officials of the US Army, and with which cooperation and exchange of knowledge with our US allies were strengthened.

During his stay in the United States, the JEME visited, on May 16th, at Fort Liberty, the Headquarters of the XVIII Airborne Corps, where he was received by its commanding general, Lieutenant General Donahue. During this visit, fundamental aspects of the transformation of this US Army Unit were discussed, the role of artificial intelligence on the battlefield and lessons learned from the conflict in Ukraine were shared.

On the same day, the JEME moved to the 82nd Airborne Division, where he attended a demonstration of the individual capabilities of its paratroopers and the Division's new infantry vehicles. Finally, at the War College of the United States Army, the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army attended a round table on the periodic reviews of the military profession in the US Army.

The following day, May 17th, Army General Enseñat visited the Military Academy of West Point, where he attended several conferences on the training and integral development of U.S. Army officers, and continued his trip to Austin (Texas), where on May 20th he held a meeting with General J. Rainey of the "US Army Futures Command," where he could see first-hand the projects developed by the "US Army Software Factory."

On the last two days, the JEME moved to Washington DC, on May 21st, to visit Virginia, where he was recognized with the "Legion of Merit," for his extraordinary performance in the modernization of the Spanish Army and the strengthening of relations between the armies of Spain and the United States, in a ceremony held at the Arlington National Cemetery.

From there, the JEME moved to the Pentagon, headquarters of the US Department of Defense, where he held a working meeting with General James J. Mingus, second chief of staff of the US Army. The following day, General Enseñat also met, at the Pentagon, with the Chief of Staff of the US Army, General Randy A. George, and the heads of the Divisions.

During the stay in Washington DC, the General Staff also had the opportunity to hold, on May 22nd, a meeting with the ambassador of Spain in Washington D.C. and visit the facilities of the Inter-American Defense Board.
