The King leads the closing ceremony of the 18th General Staff Course at the Advanced Armed Forces School

On 26 June, his majesty King Felipe VI led the closing ceremony of the 18th Armed Forces General Staff Course at the National Defence Advanced Studies School. In attendance at the event was the minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Chief of Staff of the Army, amongst other leaders.

On this occasion, a total of 119 students received a certificate accrediting the course, 90 of them Spanish and the other 29 from allied and neighbouring countries. Of the Spanish students, 15 belonged to the Army, 33 to the Navy, 29 to the Air Force, 2 to the Common Corps of the Armed Forces, 8 from the Civil Guard, 2 from the National Police and 1 from the Diplomatic Corps.

The event began with a welcome speech by the Defence Advanced Studies centre director. Later, the last lesson of the course was led by the Director of the Advanced School of the Armed Forces.

Within the 13th General staff group, there were, along with Spanish students, officials from , Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, France, Gabon, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Morrocco, Mauritius, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition, since 2014 two chief inspectors from the National Police Corps are now appointed as students and, for the first time this year, a student from the Diplomatic Corps also participated.
