Training exercise ‘Angel Guardian’ from Oct. 24 – 28 in Valencia: about 550 Spanish (MP) Military Police (PM in Spanish) and 100 from other NATO countries with more than 150 vehicles are practicing in different locations in Valencia province. The exercise is organized by the 1st Military Police Battalion from the High Readiness Land HQ.


The Spanish Military Police belong to the Army, the Navy, the Airforce, the Emergency Military Unit (UME in Spanish), and the Royal Guard. The Allied Military Police come from Belgium, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, the UK and the US. There were also observers from Estonia, Germany, and Latvia and from the NATO Military Police Centre of Excellence.


The excercise ‘Angel Guardian’ deploys real personnel and material in similar scenes of action to those than can be found abroad: Command MP Post Management; authorities protection; ocular and technical inspection checklist, biochemical risks material and explosives’ factory dismantling; convoys’ safety, traffic crashes, blood alcohol tests, speed control; ‘Green on Blue’; ‘Weapons Intelligence Team’; ‘Insider’; ‘Crowd Riot Control.’


At the same time, the ‘Angel Guardian’ exercise helps the MP´s to be up to date on the latest police self-defense techniques and on Tactical Combat Casualty Care.
