The Chief of the Army Staff, Army General Jaime Domínguez Buj, undertook a visit on 20th November of Base ‘Príncipe’, Paratroops Brigade headquarters, situated in Paracuellos del Jarama (Madrid).

On Arrival at the Base he was paid the compulsory official honours, before reviewing the Force.  In the base’s noble hall public reception area, the Paratroops Brigade commander, General Gómez de Salazar, offered him a presentation on the current situation of the unit and various current Brigade affairs.

The Chief of the Army Staff also visited a static exhibition on materiel and attended an instruction exercise.  Subsequently he moved to the Launch Unit installations, where he was offered a presentation on all the specific paratroops materiel and showed special interest in the equipment for High Altitude Low Opening-High Altitude High Opening jumps.

At the end of this visit, he held a meeting with the Paratroops Brigade officers and another with the troop in the base auditorium, in which he congratulated the personnel on their excellent labour now that they have just returned from Afghanistan and he encouraged them to continue doing such a fine job of fulfilling their duties as they have done to date.
