With a tactical exercise on the Counter Improvised Explosive Device range at ‘Cerro Muriano’ Training Centre, in Córdoba, the demonstrations were successfully concluded by the members of 10th Mechanised Infantry Brigade ‘Guzmán el Bueno’ before the Chief of the Army Staff, Army General Jaime Domínguez Buj, who visited the unit on 7th November. 

His first stop was the Vacar armoury, near Cerro Muriano, where the Brigade’s headquarters is located.  On his arrival on the base, he was paid official honours and he attended a presentation by the commander of the 10th Mechanised Infantry Brigade, in which the details of the programme of his stay and the situation of the unit, which soon will deploy in Lebanon for the third time.

Following this, the entourage moved to 10th Mechanised Infantry Regiment ‘Córdoba’ Steel Beast and Leopard turret simulator room, where they observed a demonstration.  Then, they visited an exhibition of materiel fielded, to finish up at the Counter Improvised Explosive Device range to attend the resolution of an incident in which a patrol was attacked with an Improvised Explosive Device as it passed through a village, which produced an injury.

After the demonstrations, the Chief of the Army Staff held an informal meeting with the Brigade’s officers and troop personnel, to whom he explained what the general guidelines of their mandate are going to be, while giving them an opportunity to ask questions and helping them to resolve their doubts.
