Introducción

Welcome to the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) website. This Headquarters is one of the nine Graduated Readiness Forces (Land) HQs that make up the NATO Force Structure. 

The HQ NRDC-ESP is the international part of the Spanish High Readiness Land Military Staff HQ (CGTAD in Spanish), and it represents the Spain’s main commitment to NATO.

With Spain as framework nation, currently thirteen nations are part of the HQ: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain. This multinational environment provided by its almost four hundred military personnel from different nations is the key factor that enables this Headquarters to successfully carry out all its assigned missions as tasks.

Malacky Air Base

Two years after its deployment to Malacky Air Base (Slovakia), the NRDC-ESP Corps Forward Element (CFE) has established itself as a key component of NATO’s presence on the eastern flank.

On 12 March 2024, the Corps Forward Element (CFE) of NRDC-ESP deployed its first rotation to Malacky Air Base in Kuchyňa (Slovakia), thereby demonstrating Spain’s commitment as a reliable and dedicated ally on NATO’s eastern flank.

NRDC-ESP HQ concludes LOYAL LEDA 2026 exercise, reaffirming its capability as Headquarters for high-intensity operations

The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP), based in Bétera (Spain), concluded today the LOYAL LEDA 2026 (LOLE26) exercise, its main training activity of the year.
