Spain hands over the Very High Readines Joint Task Force (VJTF) command to United Kingdom.
After the leadership of that new force through 2016, Spain hands over the responsibility of the VJTF to United Kingdom for 2017 stand-by period. The ceremony was held in Gloucester, base of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps, on the eleventh of March.
During the whole 2016 year, the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain Headquarter has been the Land Component Command Headquarters of the VJTF, which includes the “spearhead” based on the 7th Infantry Spanish Brigade ´Galicia´, as well as a Support Element from the Spanish Logistic Command.
During the ceremony NRDC ESP Commander LTG Varela Salas passed the VJTF flag to the ARRC Commander, LTG Tim Radford.
