The pioneers
This section, initiated to mark the 100th anniversary of the arrival of Roald Amundsen in the South Pole, aims at telling our readers about the brave exploits of the explorers who set out to discover that inhospitable but fascinating territory.
The author of these biographies is Amós Gil Martínez, researcher in the project “Geodesic and geothermic research, storm analysis and volcanological innovation in Antarctica”.
