Introduction
The Army Helicopter Forces welcome you to their website, where you will learn about the work of the unit.
Our members are the youngest in the Army, but the unit itself has a long and intense history which spans almost fifty years.
The Army Helicopter Forces are under the command of a Brigadier General and are deployed as follows:
- Army Helicopter Forces HQ at Colmenar Viejo (Madrid)
- 1st Attack Helicopter Battalion at Almagro (Ciudad Real)
- 2nd Emergency Helicopter Battalion at Bétera (Valencia)
- 3rd Manoeuvre Helicopter Battalion at Agoncillo (La Rioja)
- 4th Manoeuvre Helicopter Battalion at Dos Hermanas (Sevilla)
- 5th Transport Helicopter Battalion at Colmenar Viejo (Madrid)
- Army Helicopter Forces’ Signal Helicopter Battalion at Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).
- Army Helicopter Forces’ Logistic Group at Colmenar Viejo (Madrid).
There are three more units linked to the Army Helicopter Forces, although organically they belong to other Commands:
- 6th Manoeuvre Helicopter Battalion at La Laguna (Santa Cruz de Tenerife). Organically, it belongs to MACAN (Canary Islands Air Command).
- Helicopter Training Centre. Organically, it belongs to MADOC (Training & Indoctrination Command).
- Helicopter Depot & Maintenance Centre. Organically, it belongs to MALE (Army Logistic Support Command).
