Queen Marie of Romania arrived in Ceuta aboard the destroyer Sánchez Barcaiztegui in April 1929. General Gómez Jordana received her at the Puntilla Pier, and a Company of the 3rd Group of Regular Indigenous Forces of Ceuta paid her honors.
