The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Spain Headquarters activates its command post in Bétera.
The NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) has activated its core initial command post on collective tents at the Betera military base training area during this week. The aim of this exercise is to train the setting up and subsequent activation of this reduced command post in the shortest possible time with the required command and control means for a fictitious deployment, thus enhancing the level of readiness.
At the same time, a situation center has been activated to monitor this fictitious deployment of an operation at the Headquarters’ premises. During this week, the mobile command post is also permanently activated, providing the Commander with the capacity to monitor and command the operation, both static and when moving, through via satellite link.
This activity is intended to be carried out every two months and will serve to train, test and verify the combat readiness of the NRDC-ESP and its support units in accordance with NATO standards.
A total 92 military personnel have participated in the exercise, involving different units such as the Signal Regiment 21st, the Support Battalion, the Military Police Battalion or the NRDC-ESP Headquarters represented by 11 allied nations.
