On the 7th of November, about 400 personnel from eleven different allied nations participated in a march to commemorate the NATO’s 70th Anniversary. The march had its starting point at the Bétera Military Base, home of the Headquarters NATO Rapid Deployable Corps-Spain (HQ NRDC-ESP), at 4’00 a.m., and concluded fourteen hours later with the arrival of the participants to Santo Domingo Barracks in Valencia, home of the Spanish High Readiness Land Military Staff HQ (CGTAD in Spanish).

Military personnel from the HQ NRDC-ESP and CGTAD, as well as from its subordinate units (Support Battalion and Military Police Battalion) participated in the march, which was carried out in seven legs ten kilometers each. The NATO flag was carried by the participants throughout the tour, and two different flags from the eleven allied nations represented at the HQ NRDC-ESP were carried during each leg.

After the end of the march, a military parade took place and the NATO flag was raised to the sound of the NATO anthem. Several local civilian authorities were in attendance.

With this ceremony, the series of events organized by the HQ NRDC-ESP to mark the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Washington Treaty on April 4 come to an end. In addition, a military parade took place on April 4, as well as a photographic exhibition and a seminar on Geopolitics on November 5.
